How to Install WhatsApp on PC
WhatsApp Messenger is a cross-platform mobile messaging app which allows you to exchange messages without having to pay for SMS. WhatsApp Messenger is available for iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, Windows Phone and Nokia and yes, those phones can all message each other! Because WhatsApp Messenger uses the same internet data plan that you use for email and web browsing, there is no cost to message and stay in touch with your friends. In addition to basic messaging WhatsApp users can create groups, send each other unlimited images, video and audio media messages.
To use WhatsApp on Windows PC you need to install an Android simulator like Bluestacks. Read “Learn How to install Bluestacks and run Android Apps on PC” from Hackyogi. Follow the steps given below to install WhatsApp messenger on Windows PC System.
After you have installed BlueStacks, open it and search ‘Whatsapp’ to find the free messaging app.
From the list of apps shown in the results window select the WhatApp and click on install button right next to it. In the figure shown below, as I have already installed the app it is showing as ‘installed’ otherwise you will see status as ‘install’. Click on install button to start installing WhatsApp on your PC.
Now to add the contacts, you have to navigate to the Settings pane of the Bluestacks by clicking an icon shown in the figure below.
From the settings Menu, select Manage Contacts to start your friend’s contacts that can be used to add-on WhatApp.
In the next window you can see all the contacts, select the New Contact menu item at the bottom to start adding new contacts. You can also import/Export your existing contacts list from this settings page of Bluestacks.
In this example I have added the contact of my friend ‘Arvind Panwar’ with name and mobile number. As you can see in the figure below you can also add the details of your friends in the same way. After adding the details click on the Done button. That’s it now you can use WhatApp from your PC Computer System and send receive messages with your friends at no cost.
Did WhatsApp Android App really Works on PC System
I was discussing about working of WhatApp on Computer with one of my friends and he was arguing that it gets installed but the messages don’t get delivered. So I decided to test it with my friend Arvind whose contact I have added in the earlier step. So I ask him to send a message via WhatsApp from his mobile and I don’t use any messaging app on my Mobile, so the following screenshot is not from any device. It is from the Bluestacks stimulator in which you can see a message pop up displaying the message Arvind sent from his Mobile.
In the figure below, I have replied to the message from Arvind and it got delivered perfectly.
Review: I have used this on my laptop and it works 100% perfect for me with absolutely no issues to write. You can also try it and get WhatsApp on PC to start communicate with your friends.

I tried using Whatsapp from PC. I am not an expert but my response is it did not interest me much because of one major drawback. You need to keep your data connection ON on both devices i.e your PC (desktop / laptop whatever) as well as your mobile. I use a Lumia 630 (Windows Mobile). So what’s the big deal of using Whatsapp from PC? Is it just for the editing speed one has on PC over a touch screen mobile or something else? I shall be thankful to all for your valuable responses or knowledge sharing.
Sorry. I forgot to mention that I could succesfully try using Whatsapp from PC.
Both, my laptop (Samsung-Win7) and mobile (Lumia 630 Win 8) run on Windows OS. The overall experience was very smooth but I remain puzzled about it’s major utility ?
Do you have any video of that? I’d like
to find out more details.
