In this August, we have given a review of the excellent Windows partition management freeware AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard on our site. With the efforts made by AOMEI Tech in the last four months, a new upgrade of AOMEI Partition Assistant has been published today—-AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard Version 5.5. Several exciting new features have been added in APAS with the upgrade this time and one of them is extremely useful for Windows 8 users. Let’s go have a look at the new version of AOMEI Partition Assistant again.

Basic Functions
For those of you who may have not heard this software before, let me introduce you the basic features of AOMEI Partition Assistant Standard first:
1. resize/move/merge/split partitions
2. create/delete/formant/wipe/hide partitions
The functions listed above are based on the principle of “no data loss”. All the operations involved with the change of partition size or partition location in APAS won’t cause any damage to the data on your hard drive. To some people, changing the size of the partition means the destruction of data. But this is wrong. With APAS, you really don’t need to worry about that.
Advanced Functions
Apart from the basic features, AOMEI Partition Assistant also provides us with many advanced functions, which at the same time is the key that makes this freeware extraordinary.
Align Partitions
This function helps us to align SSD partitions and improve the performance of SSD significantly.
Clone Disk/Partition
We can clone the entire disk or individual partitions to another disk without data loss
Partition Recovery
If the data on hard drive have been deleted or wiped out by accident, we can use this function to retrieve them.
Convert FAT32 to NTFS and Vice Versa
Most Windows partition management utilities on the market support the conversion from FAT32 to NTFS, but few of them support the conversion from NTFS to FAT32.
Convert Primary Partition to Logical Partition
If you want to create more than four partitions on your hard drive, then this is the answer for you.
Migrate OS to SSD
The system will be transferred to a new SSD.
New Features in Version 5.5
1. Windows 8 To Go Creator
This is the most important new function in version 5.5 for we know that Windows To Go is the service that provided by Microsoft in Windows 8 Enterprise Edition only. By creating a Windows To Go bootable USB drive in Windows Enterprise Edition built-in WTG Creator Center, one can use his/her own Windows 8 OS anywhere he/she wants. By far, we cannot find any other utilities support this function except AOMEI Partition Assistant. In APAS, you just need to prepare a USB drive larger than 13GB as well as a Windows 8 image ISO file. It works in the same way as it does in Windows 8 Enterprise Edition.
In 5.5.8, AOMEI Partition Assistant enhanced Windows To Go Creator: add support for Windows 8/8.1 ESD installation (install.esd) file.
2. Create Bootable CD without AIK/WAIK
AIK (or WAIK) is big in size and we have to download before creating bootable CD of APAS in the early days. Now AOMEI Tech has simplified the process of making bootable CD for us. Creating bootable CD without AIK/WAIK is available with APAS version 5.5.

Now in 2015, AOMEI Partition Assistant has been upgraded to 5.6.4. It is an excellent partition magic Window 10. There are many changes, improved some functions and added new features. Create partition in Windows 10 with it then you can optimize your drive very easy. What’s more, it supports more languages, I think more and more people will use it.
